Abstract:
The digital economy has opened up new avenues for workers to find jobs and increase income, and plays a significant role in safeguarding, stabilizing, and expanding employment. From the perspective of labor resource mismatch, this article explores the impact of the digital economy on employment quality and the moderating mechanism of labor resource mismatch. The research results indicate that: (1) The digital economy can significantly enhance employment quality; (2) Its development substantially boosts employment quality across eastern, central, and western China, yet notable regional disparities exist in such effects; (3) Labor resource mismatch negatively moderates the impact of the digital economy on employment quality. Enhancing labor mobility efficiency and mitigate labor misallocation and strengthen the digital economy’s role in improving employment quality.
